Cornish Smuggler is another award-winning traditional cheddar-style cheese with a beautifully balanced acidity, eyecatching orange & white marbling and a deep, creamy flavour. It is made by Sue Proudfoot of Whalesborough Cheese in Marhamchurch near Bude using local pasturised cow’s milk. The marbling is created by the addition of anatto, a natural vegetable dye, which is mixed with the curds as they are placed in the moulds.
