Cheese - Sharpham Brie

£8.60

Price per kg: £43.00

Sharpham Brie is a cheese made on the Sharpham Estate near Totnes in Devon and was inspired by Maurice Ash who owned and revitalised the estate from the early 1960s. It is described as more of a Coulommier style cheese (an older, soft ripened cousin of Brie) and has been produced on the estate since 1981. Made with milk from the estate’s Jersey herd and extra double cream, the cheese is a buttercup yellow, mould ripened cheese with a downy white rind; firm, rich and creamy when young, but which softens to give a mushroomy chicory finish with age.

It was awarded a gold medal at the Food & Drink Devon Awards in 2019.
