Tremethick Dark Ale - 500ml

£3.85

Tremethick Brewery's Dark Ale is a dark, mild ale, made using Crystal Malt (one of the traditional British color malts) and Minstrel hops. Temethick describe it as "Nutty malt with vine fruit flavours. Quite sweet with hints of coffee-roast. Faintly bitter and hoppy." It was fashioned after a beer found in Cardiff in the 1980s and is the sort of mild that you can happily have another glass of.

The microbrewery occupies the old doctor's house in the village of Grampound and was founded in 2016 by Dr Dean Jenkins, himself a hospital doctor at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske, until his passion for beers led to the setting up of the brewery. Since then the microbrewery has expanded and now brews 6 varieties of beer and lager in bottles as well as in casks for local pubs. With an increase in demand, the business has taken on several part-time workers and Dr Jenkins now splits his time between medicine and brewing.
