Autumn Fest: Sat 24th – Tue 27th October 2020

Our annual pre-Halloween and Pumpkin celebration is a little more limited this year due to the restrictions that Covid-19 has imposed on us all, but with everything out in the open air, we hope you’ll still enjoy what we have on offer.

The cost this year is £6 per child, to include a tractor and trailer ride to find the pumpkin of their choice to take home and carve (and you have lots to choose from!) and the return ride in the trailer. Mini tractors and wheelbarrows will be available to help the smaller children search out and carry their pumpkins.

Also included is an under-cover hay bale photo booth in our well ventilated polytunnel next to the pumpkin field where you can have your family + pumpkin(s) photo taken. To save handling your mobile phones for photos, we’ll happily take the pictures with our own digital camera and email you a couple of high resolution images to print or upload on social media as you choose. All image files will be held for 4 weeks after the event, and then erased from our system unless you request that they are retained for longer.

As a bonus this year, we are also including a 10% shop discount voucher with every booking. This can be used in Lobbs Farm Shop at any time up until the end of November 2020.

Covid-19 precautions

Our tractor and huge seated trailer will be on hand to ferry a limited number of family groups, comprising a maximum of 1 adult and up to 3 children to allow for social distancing, down to the pumpkin field. Extra adults or family members are welcome to join in the fun but will need to make the short walk down to the field rather than take the trailer.

The trailer itself is very well ventilated with a canvas roof and transparent side flaps for bad weather, but these can be rolled up if the weather is good. Even so, we ask that all adults and older children wear a face covering on the trailer. For children under the age of 11, this is entirely optional. Hand sanitiser will also be available as you board.

We also ask that you observe social distancing from other groups at all times, although that shouldn’t be difficult when out in the pumpkin field!

Booking

As we must limit the number of people on each run, there will be 6 runs a day at hourly intervals from 10:00am until 3:00pm. Pre-booking is essential so that we can regulate the number of groups. To book your place please call the shop on 01726 844411, or you are welcome to visit the shop and book in person. We will need to take full payment at the time of booking, but if for any reason the event must be cancelled (e.g. full or local lockdown), then a full refund will be given.

At the time of booking we will also ask you for an email address and contact telephone number. This data will be handled in line with our Privacy Policy but is required so that we can contact you with updates on the event or to notify you as soon as possible should the event be cancelled.

Within a few days of booking, we’ll email your event ticked with a map showing the parking and assembly area to use on the day and your 10% shop discount voucher.

Things to remember

Even though this is Cornwall, the sun doesn’t always shine, and so we suggest that you keep an eye on the weather forecast and dress accordingly, but we suggest that you bring wet weather gear just in case. The pumpkin field can be muddy and wet, so wellies or stout footwear is strongly recommended. The ground can also be very uneven underfoot, so may not be suitable for those with a disability. We cannot, for access and safety reasons, cater for wheelchairs on the trailer. Pumpkins can be very large and heavy, so to help you or your children get them home safely, we suggest that you bring along some robust shopping bags to carry them.

From all at Lobbs Farm Shop, we look forward to seeing you!
